PreScan: ADAS development

What is PreScan?With the introduction of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) or Intelligent Vehicle (IV) systems, cars are becoming increasingly smarter. Sensors enable them to ‘see’ danger before it happens, so that the appropriate action can be taken. But what should the sensors observe? How should algorithms translate the observations into actions? And what traffic scenarios should be used to evaluate your new intelligent vehicle system? PreScan is a software package that provides the answers. |

How does PreScan work?PreScan is a software tool that can be used for developing Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that are based on sensor technologies such as radar, laser/lidar, camera and GPS. But PreScan can also be used for designing and evaluating vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication applications. Whatever system you are designing, working with PreScan takes only four simple steps: build a scenario, model sensors, add a control system and run your experiment. |

Why use PreScan?Active safety systems need to function properly for an enormous amount of different traffic scenarios that can occur on today’s roads, including effects of weather conditions, road conditions and traffic density. This makes the testing and verification of active safety devices a complicated and time-consuming activity. The dedicated Advanced Driver Assistance systems (ADAS) functionality of PreScan will contribute to tackle some of the development challenges faced by the industry. |
