TASS NewsThe MADYMO dummy family has been extended with a Q6 child dummy model, which is now ready for download! The new ellipsoid model (version 1.0, released in MADYMO 7.3 format) comes with manual pages and a quality report that includes model validation results and quality rating. The hardware Q6 child dummy is part of the so-called Q-series of child crash test dummies, meant for child injury risk assessment in vehicle safety test protocols. The Q6 child dummy is considered for adoption in future EU regulations on child restraint systems approval. It is also considered for adoption as rear seat occupant in future Euro NCAP test protocols for frontal and side impact. The MADYMO Q6 model design is based on hardware specifications as well as detailed measurements. The model has been calibrated based on numerous dummy component- and assembly tests and subsequently validated against hardware Q6 dummy responses in both frontal and lateral sled tests. The new MADYMO Q6 child dummy model meets with all hardware dummy requirements, including mass and geometry specifications and dynamic test response requirements on dummy component and assembly level. Model robustness and stability have been checked and ensured through sled test simulations in which the Q6 model was subject to severe (over-)loading conditions. The new MADYMO Q6 child dummy model (v1.0) is now available for download for all our customers. Contact your local sales representative for more information.
