MADYMO pre-approved for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by ACTAR

On August 6th, The Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR) has pre-approved the 3-day MADYMO Introductory course with 18 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

When an attendee wishes to receive CEU credist for attending the 3-day MADYMO Introductory course an application form and roster should be completed and sent to ACTAR.

The 3-day MADYMO Introductory course is meant for professionals working in the areas of automotive crash safety, train interior safety, motorcycle safety, aircraft and helicopter safety, consumer product safety, accident reconstruction and vehicle handling.

Topics that will be discussed are:

  • General features: Input structure, MADYMO Occupant Models, Acceleration Fields, Occupant / Environment Interaction, Material Modeling, Restraint System Modeling and Analysis Result Interpretation.
  • Multi-body options: Rigid and flexible Bodies, Kinematics and Dynamic Joints, Spring / Damper / Mass System and Belt Retractors / Pretensioner.
  • Finite Element options: Belt Systems Modeling, Airbag Modeling and Surface Modeling.

ACTAR

The Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR) was founded by and exists for the benefit of the traffic accident investigation and reconstruction community, as represented by the membership of the participating professional organizations. The Commission has not been obligated to nor controlled by any governmental body or agency. Since its incorporation in 1991, it has been the ongoing goal of ACTAR to promote, within the legal and scientific community, a recognition of the minimum standards established by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) study, as well as those developed by an ongoing review of the latest technology and trends in the profession.
