New MADYMO ES-2 and ES-2re ellipsoid-Q dummy models released

New MADYMO ES-2 and ES-2re ellipsoid-Q dummy models are now available on the TASS download area. The new models include major design upgrades with respect to previous versions of the ES-2 ellipsoid models. The added detail in many important body regions has resulted in significant improvements in model accuracy. The accuracy and range of validation of the new models is illustrated in the corresponding dummy model quality report as well as in the model release documentation. The underlying multibody design of the new ellipsoid-Q models is equivalent to that of the latest ES-2(re) facet-Q models, which facilitates model handling and exchange. 

The new ES-2 model design is fully in line with dummy hardware design specifications as prescribed for ECE-R95 and Euro NCAP test protocols. The new ES-2re model design (with modified rib unit) is fully in line with hardware specifications as prescribed for FMVSS 214 and US NCAP test protocols. The models meet all hardware certification requirements and have been validated with full system sled tests for the above-mentioned protocols. Left-hand and right-hand model versions are available for both hardware dummy variants.

The new models are available in MADYMO V7.0, V7.1 and V7.2 format.

License information
  • For MADYMO module licensing, the ES-2(re) ellipsoid-Q models require the side impact dummies module ( MADYMO/DummyModels/Side ).
  • For MADYMO token licensing, the ES-2(re) ellipsoid-Q models require 20 tokens.
